LIFE
- Master Sgt. Steven E. Auchman, of Waterloo N.Y joined the Air Force in 1985.
- He worked as a Ground Radio Maintenance Craftsman, and was assigned to the 5th Air Support Operations Squadron based at Fort Lewis, WA as the Support Superintendent.
- He reportedly volunteered for the deployment because the person originally assigned was trying to withdraw for personal reasons.
KIA
- MSgt Auchmanwas killed in action from injuries sustained when multiple rocket-propelled grenades struck his location in Mosul.
- Pentagon officials reported U.S. and Iraqi forces in that northern Iraq city had recently clashed with gunmen during two attacks against American military convoys.
- MSgt Auchman was survived by Jenny (wife), Eric (Son), Brian (Son) and John (Twin Brother).
