Who We Are

The TACP Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to supporting TACP service members and their families. Founded by veterans and advocates, we provide assistance through transition support, mental health resources, and honoring fallen heroes.

What is a tacp?

Tactical Air Control Party (TACPs) are Special Warefare Airmen in the United States Air Force.

They serve as highly trained Joint Terminal Attack Controllers (JTACs), responsible for coordinating close air support (CAS) and integrating joint firewpower into ground combat operations.

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Calling in Airstrikes: TACPs are trained to direct precision airstrikes, artillery, and naval gunfire to support friendly forces.
  • Embedded with Ground Forces: They often operate alongside Army, Marine, and Special Operations units, advising commanders on the best use of air assets in combat.
  • Surveillance & Reconnaissance: TACPs provide battlefield intelligence and ensure that air support is used effectively.
  • Advanced Communications: They use high-tech communication systems to coordinate between aircrew and ground troops.
